Existem cenários e composições, como essa paisagem, que um artista não consegue ignorar. Muitas vezes absorvo as imagens, as cores e a luz, e as guardo na minha memória, mas não para retratá-las posteriormente, e sim pelo fato de que às vezes as coisas não precisam ser reveladas e interpretadas. Mas no caso dessas jangadas, queria mostrar a força do calor do nordeste, dramatizando essa luz com o uso de espátula.

There are sceneries and compositions, such as this landscape, which an artist can never ignore. Many times, I absorb the images, the colors and the light, and store them in my memory, not to paint them afterwards, but only because sometimes things don’t need to be revealed and interpreted. In this particular picture with these rafts, I wanted to show all the strength of the northeastern heat, dramatizing the light through the use of a spatula.
